The Art of Resilience: Be Like Amanda Wise Lindner

Be Like Amanda

6/22/20265 min read

There are people who walk the runway, and then there are people who command it, transforming every stride into a celebration of survival, grace, and reinvention. Amanda Wise Lindner is the epitome of the latter.

At 46 years old, Amanda didn’t just find modeling—she found a sanctuary, a canvas for healing, and a platform to rewrite her narrative. Having triumphed over profound medical adversities and a traumatic roadside accident while protecting her daughter, she has emerged not as a victim of her circumstances, but as a vibrant catalyst for hope.

Today, as a Charjean Couture model, a 2026 Gladys Girl, and a rising beacon of strength, Amanda shared with Spotlight Models her breathtaking journey from the dark into a brilliant kaleidoscope of color.

Embracing the Runway

You’ve mentioned that modeling essentially "found you" eight months ago when you needed it most. Looking back at that very first boutique show, how did it feel to step onto the runway, and when did you realize that modeling was going to be the catalyst for your healing?

When I first stepped onto the runway I didn’t think about it, because I didn’t have anything invested. For me it was just a moment in time of me helping a friend. It wasn’t until my second show when I realized I wanted more. I wanted a better opportunity to truly grow and invest into something that forced me to look outside of myself.

Overcoming the Darkest Moments

Your journey to the runway came after a terrifying roadside accident while you were protecting your daughter. How did finding your passion for modeling help you navigate and pull through the dark depression that followed that trauma?

It gave me the opportunity to truly for the first time in a very long time to heal in a different way than society may feel you should heal. Whether that be a medicine or therapy, which is ok, however for me, it was about me finding myself again from the inside out. I had to heal my heart. It helped me focus on a renewal like when a butterfly flies for the very first time after emerging from its vaccine. It’s no longer a caterpillar. It’s now learning to navigate a whole new world from a different view thru its eyes and a new perception on how to now survive. Like the butterfly in now seeing the world thru a kaleidoscope to reveal the most beautiful colors that are no longer dark and grey that a caterpillar may see. It’s a new look in a spectacular way.

A Whirlwind of Success

Since joining Charjean Couture in February, your career has absolutely skyrocketed—from Getty Images to having dresses named after you! How are you processing this beautiful whirlwind, and what has been the most surreal moment for you so far?

It’s been such an amazing experience, because it’s given me a fresh look on being able to truly do anything that you put your mind to even at my age and never being submersed into the culture before. The most surreal moment for me truly has been named a Gladys girl for Gladys Magazine. Being accepted as a true beginner with no experience shows me that we’re truly all worthy of something special no matter how hard our brain would have us think otherwise. It’s nice to know someone truly sees the underdog and wishes for them to go places.

Representing Gladys Magazine

Congratulations on being named a 2026 Gladys Girl and being featured as one of their 100 success stories! What does it mean to you personally to share your story on such a massive platform this coming August and September?

This question is so meaningful and special to my heart for this reason. I truly wanted to give up after my accident. It wasn’t the cancer, the stroke, or the Nstemi that broke me, which you’d think it would have, however it was feeling like my life meant nothing to another human being that broke my spirit.

I saw a quote last February painted on a building as I was riding in a uber to my very first big photoshoot for NYFW me. It was “Then I Saw Me” and it resonated deeply within my soul. That was a turning point for me, because it felt that’s when I started to see myself again. So, to have another human being with such prestige like Gladys Magazine to “See Me” was such a pivotal moment, because that has been my mission statement. It’s been let me walk side by side with you holding hands to help guide you to something special whether you’ve endured tough moments or not.

We’re all deserving to be seen. We’re never too old to be seen. We’re never to old to grow and accomplished new things. No matter if you’re a young kid or 80 years of age. It only takes one person to spark something in out brains to totally rewrite it to become a beautiful butterfly with an amazing display of colors.

Ultimate Survivor Status

In addition to surviving a major accident, you are a two-time cancer survivor, stroke survivor, and NSTEMI survivor. Where do you draw the incredible strength and will to keep pushing forward, and how do you channel that ultimate survivor energy when you are posing in front of the camera?

That’s simple… my daughter who’s forever watching me who was born with cancer herself… ultimately I desire to channel the perspective of be part of the solution not the problem… we become those we chose to spend our time with and I only desire to leave a favorable impression for others to see that it’s ok to have tough times, however it’s up to us to find the reward thru the hardships.

I desire for others to say “Hey you help me? Will you show me how? Will you hold my hand along the way?” Verses seeing me as another stumbling block that may leave them feeling inadequate and one more person they don’t feel they can be vulnerable with.

Ageless Ambition

You proudly shared that you are 46 years old and living life to its absolute fullest potential without regrets. What message do you hope your journey sends to other women who might think it’s "too late" to reinvent themselves or chase a brand-new dream?

My message would be this… PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME AND LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER. No one is a stranger to me. I’d proudly walk with you thru your new journey. Don’t allow anyone to keep you from being able to say at least you tried. It’s better to have tried, failed, tried again, to possibly succeed, to have regret.

The Spotlight Philosophy

If you could sum up the "Amanda Wise Lindner" philosophy on life in just a few sentences for your fans and fellow models on SpotlightModels.org, what would it be?

You truly only live this very short life once. Give it all that you can while you can, because it’s not about who’s looking at you, it’s about who’s possibly looking up to you. What’s your flex? How do you wish to leave your legacy even if upon a stranger? It only takes ONE person to leave a forever lasting impression. Whether it’s a smile, eye to eye contact, a kind compliment. What kind of forever lasting impression would you wish to leave upon them knowing it could be the last you leave on this earth?

Amanda’s story reminds us all that our past traumas do not define the height of our future potential. Her journey from the darkness of injury and illness into the bright lights of the fashion world is a living testament to the power of a single spark, a fresh perspective, and an unyielding spirit.

Are you ready to find your own spark, share your unique journey, and inspire a community that believes it is never too late to reinvent yourself?
