Behind the Spotlight: Q&A with Vayda

The Signature Move

Q: You’ve been modeling for over two years now and love learning new poses. If you had to give your absolute favorite signature pose a fun name, what would it be and can you show me how to do it?

Vayda: "My absolute favorite is the classic 'Shift & Walk'! It's a basic model side-pose, where I shift my weight to the other side, bring it back to the side, and then smoothly walk back. And yes, of course I can show you!"

Jet-Setting Dreams

Q: You’ve already rocked the runway in El Paso and Dallas! If you could jump on a plane tomorrow to walk in a massive fashion show anywhere in the world, where are we packing our bags for?

Vayda: "Hawaii!! I have always wanted to go there. I can only imagine how incredible a runway show on the islands would be!"

Behind-the-Scenes Fun

Q: You’re already a local TV star with your Wet 'n Wild and El Paso Electric commercials! What was the funniest or most exciting thing that happened behind the scenes when you were filming?

Vayda: "Filming the Wet 'n Wild commercial was so exciting because I got to go on all the big water rides while we were shooting and just have fun! Fun fact: it was actually my very first time going on the big rides. I was a little scared at first, but once I did it, I felt so accomplished!"

The Triple Threat

Q: On top of modeling, you sing, dance, and do pageants! If you were putting on a massive one-girl show, which of these would be your grand finale?

Vayda: "Singing, hands down! That is what I love doing the most. There is nothing like being on stage and bringing music to life!"

Future Cover Girl

Q: Imagine you just got the news that you're on the cover of a top fashion magazine. What does the big, bold headline next to your picture say about you?

Vayda: "Fierce, Bold, and Unique: This Texas Girl is Here to Shine as Bright as a Star!"

The Dream Outfit

Q: You get to wear so many amazing designs. What is the most unique, colorful, or favorite outfit you’ve ever worn on a runway or in a shoot?

Vayda: "I recently walked for Valpine Swimwear, and the blue and gold designs were absolutely beautiful. But my favorite piece of the whole look was the gorgeous cap that came with it!"

Being a Leader

Q: You’ve mentioned wanting to be a great leader and help your community. What is one small, kind thing you think every kid can do to make their neighborhood a happier place?

Vayda: "Simply being there for each other in times of need and showing love to one another!"

The Runway Hype-Up

Q: Every top model has a way of getting focused before they step out into the spotlight. What is your go-to song or quick dance move to get you hyped up and ready to shine?

Vayda: "I don't have a specific song—instead, I usually go over my routine in my head, practice it out, and then focus all that energy into performing on stage!"
